Our comprehensive classes focus on learning fundamental fishing techniques (the basics), deepening respect for nature (the basis), and cultivating deep-rooted love for the world around us (the philosophy).

fundamentals + respect

Absolutely no previous experience required! We begin with step-by-step instructions on setting up fishing poles, tying knots, and baiting the hooks. We emphasize respect for the equipment, the fish, and most importantly each other.

casting + confidence

Regardless of experience, we ensure each little is comfortable and confident casting and reeling. We practice aim and precision and encourage independent problem solving. Responsibility and safety are our top priorities.

Once respect, responsibility, and safety are demonstrated, we head to the docks to fish and have fun! Kids get to show off what they've learned with excitement and engagement and are always in for a REEL good time!

We will walk out into the marsh to catch fiddler crabs, show you how to set crab traps, and teach you how to throw a cast net. All while you enjoy coffee at sunrise or adult bevvies at sunset.

Dive deep (or dip your toes) into coastal ecology while you learn the basics of fishing and crabbing! We can talk everything from marine biology to Charleston culture to conservation efforts on the coast.
